GROOMING SESSION

FEBRUARY 22, 2003
GAITHERSBURG, MARYLAND

by Lou Swafford

The first of three scheduled Grooming sessions was held last Saturday, the 22nd of February 2003.  The weather was terrible, but in spite of the weather, we had a nice turnout.  One of our members, Bill Russell drove all the way from Waynesboro, VA.  He had been fostering a rescue dog that had been treaded for heartworm.  So he brought Dolly up and we groomed her.  She is scheduled to be spayed this week.  Another member, Malcolm and Joyce Grahm traveled down from Bel Air, MD with their dog Molly Bea. The Lytle family was in attendance, along with their dog Kippy.  Nancy Flowers, with her dog River was also in attendance.  Pam McKusick and her dog Tierney were present.  Pam is the chairperson for the grooming sessions and as always, she did an outstanding job.  Also we had two guest.  A Jeanne Esmond, from Virginia with her dog Roxie.  Also Jo Ellen Arnold was in attendance and helped me groom Dolly, the rescue Airedale.  The following pictures reflect the hard work at the grooming session.  Our Club President Russ Hammond and his wife Marie gave instructions in Show grooming and I did the Pet grooming.

Nancy Flowers, with her Airedale "River"

Malcolm Grahm and his Airedale "Molly Bea"

The Lytle family, Fay, Katie, Jessica and Carleigh and of course their Airedale "Kippy"

Rescue Airedale named "Dolly" with a good Airedale friend Jo Ellen Arnold

Pam McKusick and Jo Ellen Arnold and Pam's Airedale names "Tierney"

Jeanne Esmond and her Airedale "Roxie"

As you may recall, the weather last Saturday was Bad, Bad, Bad.  However, when you have Airedales involved in a grooming session, the weather really doesn't matter.

Best regards and thanks,

Lou
